Rip Rap was installed along the banks of the river along with live willow staking to promote bank vegetation and fish spawning. The project is situated in a high-flow area, so ASI installed Pyramat Turf Reinforcement Matting to protect against the varying degrees of flooding it can expect. The challenge was to incorporate the TRM while maintaining a natural look to the area. Tree stumps and logs that were originally removed from the area were replaced along with the planting of new vegetation. Once grown in, the area will support a natural vegetated habitat for wildlife while being extremely erosion resistant.
