PROJECT NOTES: This part of the Winnipeg Convention Centre renovation was the building envelope renovation, which consisted of removal of the veneer stone exterior and insulation and replaced with an insulating sheathing, air and vapour barrier and a metal cladding. A self-adhesive air and vapour barrier membrane was originally specified for the covering of the 70,000 sq. ft. of sheathing in the soffit area, but after a demonstration of the Bakor Air-Bloc 06 spray-on system, this system was chosen due to the better adhesion to the Dens Glas Gold substrate in an overhead application.
While Bakor Air-Bloc 06 system does not require a primer, all of the Dens Glas Gold sheathing were primed and taped with Bakor’s Yellow Jacket 990-06 reinforcing mesh prior to the application of Air-Bloc 06. Bakor’s Blueskin TG was torched -on applied to the 70,000 sq. ft. of
existing wall surface area.
