Quik-Therm
Quik-Therm is an environmentally friendly insulation that provides superior R-value performance and is ideal for above or below grade construction. There are a variety of different benefits, applications, cost savings, and building science behind the innovations of Quik-Therm products.
Quik-Therm Solar Dry
Solar Dry (SDI) is a perforated new product that has been tested by independent building scientists proving its performance as being superior to all other fibrous and foam products. SDI will not act as a double vapor barrier and will:
- Maintain its effective R-value in moist coastal climates,
- Not be affected by wind washing, and
- Will be compliant with Ceraclad and James Hardie furring compression requirements.
SDI is manufactured with metallic polymer facers laminated to closed-cell, lightweight Type 2 Expanded Polystyrene (EPS). SDI is effectively impermeable, however it is neither an air nor vapour barrier. On the inboard side, SDI has engineered vertical air cavities that allow walls to drain, dry and disperse moisture. On the outboard side, the location for furring strips (metal or wood) is identified by shallow depressions.
Combustability
Quik-Therm has invested significant resources to specify that SDI is fire code compliant for six stories or less buildings that are wood framed.
QUIK-THERM SUB-GRADE INSULATION
Sub-Grade Insulation (SGI) is designed for below grade applications such as exterior concrete walls and beneath concrete slabs and floors. SGI is rugged and durable. It consists of closed cell, lightweight and resilient expanded polystyrene (EPS) layered on both sides with advanced metallic polymer facers. When joints are taped, SGI achieves code compliancy as part of a radon, air and vapour barrier system. There is no poly required and it is available in variable, thicknesses, lengths and densities.
QUIK-THERM T&G CONNECT
Strapping over rigid insulation is a time consuming two step process. Tongue and Groove (T&G) Connect is an all in one strapping and continuous insulation system. 3/4" thick x 2.5" wide plywood battens are imbedded within the foam insulation panels. Panels are laminated on both sides with advanced metallic polymer facers.
Connect structurally attaches heavy claddings to walls, ceilings, roofs and floors. Batten spacing - 16" or 24" centres. Available in 4’ x 8’ sheets, variable densities and thicknesses.
Quik-Therm Multi-Purpose Insulation
Innovative Passive House designs incorporate Multi-Purpose Insulation (MPI) as part of the air barrier, vapour retarder and insulation system. MPI is effectively impermeable, durable and damage resistant. It works for pre-engineered, steel, wood frame and concrete buildings - flat or curved surfaces. MPI is available in sheets and rolls - variable sizes, thicknesses and densities. Optional T&G connections are available.

Quik-Therm Concrete Insulation System
Quik-Therm Concrete Insulation System (CIS) is a flood resistant patented high performance, all-in-one interlocking composite insulation system and is designed for interior basement, commercial masonry, retrofit walls and heritage buildings.
- CIS meets code as part of an all in one air, vapour and radon barrier.
- Stud spacing is pre-determined and L-studs can be adjusted to plumb and level walls.
- CIS installs in about 1/2 the time of conventional insulation and framing methods.
- Available in 4x4 and 4x8 panels.
- Thickness: 2.75” to 6”.
- Metal L-studs, stabilizers, base gasket and fasteners sold separately.
